Grandmaster Mills tonfa article
Hey Brad,
Enjoyed the recent post on the Master's Page. What do you think the chances are of having Grandmaster Mills give a blackbelt seminar on the application of tonfa. I'm sure all of us that have run the katas for years would love to have the additional knowledge, and we would be more than happy to host such an event at North Knox.

What do you think?

Mike, I think that is a wonderful idea. Any chance we have of picking Master Mills' brain for more techniques is beneficial to all those involved. When and where would you like to do this? If I see him tonight I will ask him. That may be something we can do at the Halls Family Night at the end of November. What about that?

Great, glad this "old and feeble" brain can still come up with a good idea every once in awhile. But what I was thinking is more on the lines of a Master Class ... we have family nights that include all of our students so perhaps we can also from time to time have a smaller gathering of instructors for a little more intense seminar. With all of the differing interests that are developing among our instructors I think it could be very informative for us all.

Wow Mike, two great ideas in the same day. I think that sounds fantastic.
Maybe we could have a Saturday workshop every so often. I think that is just the thing we need to bring all of the black belts closer and learn something in the process. We probably should invite he brown belts as well.
I would also like to see two school-wide outings each year. Maybe for a day of paintball or hiking in the mountains or even a day at Cove Lake with training and a cookout. I think the Family Nights are great, but we could do more do much more to promote our art and school. Some of these things may be just what we need to take the Pete Mills Karate school forward into the future.

Brad,
As always I knew I could count on you to take the ball and run with it. Great ideas!! It's comforting to know that the legacy of Pete Mills Karate rests in capable and caring hands. I'm behind you 100% just let me know how I can help to push this thing on through.
