Family Night - Novmber 29th

To start with, I would like to say thank you to everybody that came tonight and for making it one of the best Family Nights yet.  We had a total of 42 people on the floor.  Wow what a turn out!!!  Thank you all for an outstanding night of sparring and fellowship.

I would also like to say a big thank you to Sensei's Lewis and Baird and all of their students for joining in with our Family Night.  Sensei Lewis has a fine group, I know he is proud.  They were a very welcomed addition to our Family Night.  I would love to see us be able to have evenings like this again.

I have updated the website with photos from last night.  You can get to them from the Events page.

I am looing forward seeing everyone at our Christmas Banquet on Deceber 14th.

Brad that was a great workout and a fun class. Jerry and Brandons students were very good and showed great sportsmanship. Watching Brandon Baird fight was a treat as he's a world class and makes me remember when I was 20yrs younger and could still move. I again think that proves my point from another Bloq about training for competition. When you can compete on a level with the top notch tournament fighters you can make those that don't look pretty bad. Brandon seemed to be on a whole different level than any of the rest of us. The one good thing is you looked very good and probably gave him his best fight. I know most of our black belt instructors are about 50 are older and thats why we need to get many of our younger guy's trained up and start taking charge in our sparring. I want to say I was very proud of my student Kevin as he's really coming along and is going to be a terrific fighter as well as an all around martial artist.
I don't know with the Christmas Banquet and Christmas itself if we should have a joint workout at my place next month, but we can if you guy's want to. If you and Sensei Keith decide to the best date would probably be the 20th.
That might even be a good thing as we will be taking off from the 21st and not resuming until the 3rd and possibly the 7th.

Sorry it took me so long to write but I had to wait until my eyes uncrossed and the ringing subsided…
You know, I wasn’t even going to workout Thursday night because of a sore back (see previous posts) and sinus … and any number of reasons that I can think up after the fact, but once “New Meat” showed up that just wasn’t an option. The only problem was nobody told me we had “Prime Sirloin” walking through the door!!

Sensei's Lewis, Baird and the rest of their instructors are to be commended for the great job they are doing.
I had the opportunity to watch a few of their kyu ranks fight and was very impressed with what I saw … they are not teaching pattycake over the hill, they are training fighters!
I personally hope this is the beginning of a long beneficial relationship between our two schools.

As to a little over zealousness just let me say, actually being on the receiving end, none of us want to be hurt or to hurt anyone, but it happens. We’re not a sewing circle, we’re martial artists and taking a shot now and again is part of the process.

Gentleman, The Lewis School was nice enough to give us a wake-up call …. Let’s not ignore it!!!!

Hello All, Yes the Seiber, Lewis and Baird clan are part of out family! Yahoo! I agree, well said Mr. Allan, struggles help us grow.... "not a knitting class". Nobody pulled their gloves off and wanted to kill anybody. (I have repeatedly been witness and party to that). Like the famous quote goes, "cant we all just get along?" Looking forward to the feast and the sparring this month. We should all help one another in truth and love. Love sometimes hurts. Love ya, God Bless, Keith

I would like to say thank you for the invite everyone really enjoyed the workout. I just hate that I have an upcoming knee surgery, the sidelines is the hardest place for a fighter. I am taking a pole of all of our students from bother schools and so far everyone agrees that this new relationship is a good one. I look forward to future gatherings. Thanks again.
