Stick Night at the Halls Dojo and a Personal Thanks

Well another Stick Night is in the history books for the Halls Dojo.  Sensei Allan did a wonderful job as always.  I am very glad that Sensei Allan is spending more time at the Halls Dojo.  He is not only a teacher to me, but also a good friend.  Sensei Bowers was unable to attend as he was celebrating his daughters birthday for the second time this year.

We did a nice review of Classical Arnis.  I am very proud of my students for the way they have taken to stick work.  This is so much to learn and we have not even begun to scratch the surface.

I am also very proud of our newest instructor at the Halls Dojo, Kent Blankenship.  Kent lead a kids class last night and had them all wound up ready for Thursdays class.  He has a real passion to teach and I am tickled to have him.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank Master Doyle Seiber and his group for an outstanding Family Night.  I think the mix of talent and respect our two groups have for each other shows that we have a very promising future together.

I also wanted to personally thank Master Doyle for the time he spent with me during the Family Night.  To be quite honest, I did not want to go to that particular night because of my back injury.  I do not do well standing on the sidelines watching, I want to be in the mix with everyone.  But after spending most of the evening in a one-on-one session with Master Doyle I walked away with a new found respect for kata (Yes I said it, but I will still deny it if i am asked about it) and some great tips to help my fighting.

I look forward to hosting the next Family Night at the Halls Dojo on March 27.  I hope everyone will make plans to attend.
