Family Night - March 27, 2008

We had another fantastic Famiy Night. I want to thank everyone for coming. I was pleased with the turn out, especially considering what a beautiful day we were blessed with.
I think we all have some new hand drills to work on to help us all improve. The sparring was terriffic. We only had a small amount of blood and nothing was broken.

Whats up? The family night was fantastic! I wonder why the numbers were down. I guess summertime is approaching and sadly that means for some that means karate takes a back seat to other activies. Not me though i remain firmly in the karate driverseat. Listen i have a full contact cage fight on april 19th. It is at the harley shop on clinton highway. Not a family event but you guys are welcome to come watch! I think im off overtime this week so maybe we can train on sat. Let your guys know and lets make this one big. I will keep you posted on any changes. See yall soon

Shane, can you let us know what time the event starts on the 19th? I am sure we can have a few friendly faces in the crowd to help support.
You aren't fighting that same girl who left that big mark on the side of your head again are you? If you are I am impressed!!!

No, i am however fighting a big dumb redneck. I think i would rather have the redneck though. He is less scary. I believe it starts at 7 but i would get there early if you want a seat. These events are few and far between in tennessee. So i think there should be a big crowd. I really enjoyed the hand drills. Still having problems getting that dang arnis drill. I guess kent must have hit me too many times.

Like always... I learned (or revisited) some "Key Principles" on Family Night. I often think how Blessed I am to be associated with such a group.
So picture this ...I'm sparing (or whatever it is I do)... and right there, in "Real Time", I'm receiving input on what I can do to improve. Then also, consider the source... some of the "Best of the Best" Marshall Arts has to offer. Talented, High Ranking Instructors... with "humble spirits", and "teaching hearts"...
... the best part is, they don't just jump around and "Beat me Up"... instead they teach me how I can do a better job of jumping around and "Beating Them Up"... (o;
(yea... like that will ever happen).
I hope everyone attending had a good time and appreciates what a great opportunity for "Learning" this is. Thanks everybody for coming...

Great Night with a lot of information thrown at us in a brief time but then again that's the beauty of the family ... visit when you can!
My continued admiration and respect for the leadership, training and character of all the sensei's in this family.
Looking forward to both a possible Saturday workout and Shane's upcoming fight with the "big dumb redneck"

Hello All, Just as I was grinning of the tiny cut on my lip, (insert name of young, slim, black haired, yellow belt who talks fast) said looky here! Blood red teeth smiling and a stream pouring from his nose, he was so happy. I don't blame him, it was a dandy bloody nose. I'm sure it was an accident as everybody was trying to play "nice". Several students told me why they could not make it, and that's going to happen sometimes. Thanks to whomever hollered out use your hands Mick, he was doing quite well kicking me, please save suggestions until I have had my fun with him first, he's getting much too fast as are many others. I had to write and say, I was very proud to be a part of that night. In fact it is truly a blessing to be able to play with a group that is the best "karate family" in Knoxville or maybe in the world. Everybody is/was ready to teach, wanting to help, wonderfully talented, mostly humble, just as it should be. Thank you Mr. Bradley, signed Marshall Arts

I'm still trying to figure out if Sensei Bad is calling me an girl.Or Shane is calling me a redneck.Mike if you know the answer let me know.Also MIck I did meet Martial arts seemed like a fine young man.Shane I want to know when your fight is also.Would like to watch a fellow brawler.You do know that me and Brad will be in your corner. To be honest I'm not sure those comments were directed at you, but wouldn't that make you a "pinkneck" ...
I'll be there but it sounds like that corner is going to be a bit crowded ...

I did do a spell check so I looked it up in the dictionary and Bad and Brad meant the exact same thing.

Hey have you heard about the Karate College in June? From what I hear it sounds pretty good and would be even better the larger the group. Maybe our webmaster will post something about it ...
Also April's Family Night will be Thursday the 24th at North Knox.
