Blankenship Goes 3 - 0 to  Win Championship
Extra-large black belt fighter, Kent Blankenship, went 3 and 0 against three of the dojo's top kids last week bringing his record to 30 and 2 overall.  Blankenship's 2 losses came from 2 older young fighters that were over the age of 13.  Blankenship stated, "The smaller girls were tough tonight but i really just continued to concentrate on my technique."  The youngest fighter, Tiffany age 9, said, "Kent really hit me hard tonight.  Generally the other kids hit harder.  I don't know what it was.  Maybe it was the baggy clothes that made him look bigger and more intimidating."  Blankenship, now well into his 40's, often uses the old step-on-the-foot trick, as pictured above, to gain a clear advantage over the much smaller opponents.  Kent is hoping to continue his streak as he is scheduled to fight the East Knoxville Elementary All-Stars, the Kiddie Academy Select Fighters and the toughest class of all - the Garden Montessori Dragons.  With his most recent string of success, Blankenship could be looking forward to the potential next movie sequel "Karate Kid 4", where Daniel and Mr. Miaggi take and old man and whip all the other kids at the Karate Tournament.  Until then, the pressure remains on Blankenship to continue winning.

In Kent's defense this is an old article written before he was promoted to Black Belt. Kent is now accepting challenges from any female under the age of 17 and below the rank of green belt.

AS a writer myself I have long known that Kent could be a champion in the smaller student division. We edited part of the article. The original article said " Blankenship stated that "other students my size make fun of me. But who has the last laugh now? I am the best. Ali, Tyson, Foreman and now me Butterfly Blankenship"
