Great Week Of Training

Woke up this morning sore, battered and bruised but with a smile on my face!!

They say be careful what you wish for because it might just come true, well in a previous post I requested more and varied seminars and this week my aching body got what it wished for …..

Monday night Master Bowers and I worked some advanced cane locks and controls at North Knox … Painful but very informative.

Tuesday Night at Halls Master Mills surprised us with a wonderful seminar on what I would call Ground Fighting for the Street  …. This wasn’t your run of the mill grappling class. This was serious technique for when you find yourself on the ground!!!   Let me recommend to you that any chance you have of working street technique with Master Mills jump on it!!!  If you have never made the mistake of getting to close to Master Mills where he can get his hands on you … you don’t know what power is!!!!

Thursday Night at Halls I was just expecting to get my weekly beating from Brad (he did not disappoint me)when in walks Master Seiber and Sensei Baird with a bag full of tricks and some new ways of thinking.

I’ve been training now for over 35 years and in that time you get a little to set in your ways … I know which of my techniques are high percentage and I watch and study every fighter in the dojo for their strengths and weaknesses but sometimes it takes a new perspective to move to the next level and relight the fire.  That’s where a GREAT TEACHER like Master Seiber comes in.  He has a unique ability to not only arm you with some wonderful techniques but to see the specific roadblocks you have placed within your training and help you remove them.

And Sensei Baird, what more can I say, we’ve all seen his ability family night after family night …..

Guys, we are blessed to have such exceptional martial artists in our family and it’s to your own disservice if you do not take advantage of every opportunity you have to learn from them!!!
